Hey Chaffee County,

House meetings are always so intimate. Connecting on a personal level where a speech evolves into a discussion always energize me as a candidate.

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of participating in a community gathering here in Chaffee County. The event provided an invaluable opportunity to engage with constituents, explore local issues, and gain insights into the perspectives of potential candidates. It was inspiring to encounter such a dedicated group of individuals eager to share their concerns about our community.

While my professional background is in education, this experience has highlighted a capacity for problem-solving that can be applied to public service. It is evident that Chaffee County is in need of a pragmatic and citizen-centric approach to governance.

At the gathering, attendees were asked to identify key challenges, potential solutions, and core values for our community. The most frequently cited issues were affordable housing, labor shortages, controlled growth, water concerns and excessive taxation.

Regarding areas for improvement, participants expressed a desire to reduce government overreach, lower taxes and fees, and streamline regulations.

To enhance the county's vitality, attendees emphasized the need for affordable housing, the development of winter tourism, and a supportive environment for small businesses, including appropriate regulation of short-term rentals.

The overarching themes of community and environmental preservation emerged as the most cherished aspects of Chaffee County. These values were consistently highlighted by participants, underscoring their importance to the community's identity.

Based on the collective input, I believe that our focus should remain on housing, water resources, environmental protection, preserving our small-town character, and limiting government intrusion. While this summary cannot encompass every detail shared at the gathering, it provides a comprehensive overview of the key concerns expressed by our community.

Team McCracken Updates Issue #9 Recent Successes: Armed Forces BBQ, Memorial Parade, 103rd Collegiate Peaks Rodeo and VFW Dance in BV , frequent and enthusiastic supporters, placing a first round of large highway signs Upcoming Events :  FIBArk Parade, July 4th, (lots to do this day) Chaffee County Rodeo, signs, phone calls and meeting with voters and supporters Calls to Action :  Plan to participate in the FIBArk Parade next Saturday Plan to make a contribution, no matter the size.  Our Website claims we can only contribute $2500 but my registered agent says the real limit is $2850.  (Either is fine.) Plan to register a new voter. Plan to request a sign or host a house visit for you and possible guests. Plan to attend a leadership meeting to lay out some of our next events.   Issue #14 We are less than 80 days from the election.  We are anticipating a big thrust by our opponents as we head into these final months.  Please know your secure online contributions or personal checks are going to GREAT causes. We have a Young Life golf hole sponsorship, a Spaghetti Western, A Chaffee County Fundraiser at the Orpheum Theater with comedian Samuel Adams,  a few candidate panel discussions, a county wide mailer, radio ads, newspaper ads, yard signs and highway signs, all the usual items and a few secret weapons. We have a brief report on our progress then we’ll share a few of those upcoming events.   Proud Father I feel like a proud father when I look at all the names of people that have made contributions in the form of time, talents or TREASURE to this campaign.  It shows a willingness to engage, lean in and embrace the struggle.
